Blue Heaven Grass

This grass has beautiful silver blue gray foliage in the summer that turns to a beautiful burgundy red color in the fall. It has a nice upright form that grows approximately 3ft to 4ft tall and up to 2.5ft wide. Silvery white seed heads appear towards the end of the summer. A great native choice for the landscape.


Shenandoah Switch Grass

Shenandoah Switch grass is a selection of our native Red Switch Grass. Because it is a selection of a native it is very hardy but its seeds are not viable so it will grow as a clump grass. Shenandoah typically grows 3-5ft tall and 3ft wide. It has green foliage with red tips. Airy seed heads with reddish seeds adorn this lovely grass in the fall. This plant works great in full sun as a foundation, screen or accent plant.



Dwarf Maiden Grass

Great when used alone or in mass plantings. This is a compact version of the regular maiden grass, it grows 3ft to 4ft tall and 3ft wide. Silvery white plumes and the foliage turns golden bronze in the fall. Plant in part to full sun. Hardiness zones 5 to 9.



Feather Reed Grass / Karl Forester

Feather Reed Grasses have an upright vertical growth habit with feather flowering spikes in the summer that turn golden brown in the fall. They work extremely well in mass or group plantings. They will grow up to 36in tall by 24in wide, plumes can grow up to 6ft tall. Plant in full sun. Hardiness zones 4 to 9.



Japanese Forest Grass

This grass works more as ground cover with its weeping spreading habit. It is variegated foliage provides stunning visual effects and its one of the few grasses that grows well in shade. It will grow up to 18in tall and wide and can be divided when it gets too large. Plant in part sun to part shade. Hardiness zones 5 to 9.



Maiden Grass

Maiden Grasses work well when used as a specimen or mass plantings. They get silvery white plumes and the foliage turn golden bronze in the fall. They will grow 6ft to 8ft tall with plumes that get even taller and about 3ft to 5ft wide. Plant in full sun. Hardiness zones 5 to 9.



Northern Hardy Pampas Grass (Earianthus, Ravannae)

The largest growing grass in our area. This hardy grass grows 12ft tall and 6ft wide. Huge silvery seed heads in the fall put on a show that can be seen from far off! A great plant in full sun for screening off unwanted views.



Northwinds Switch Grass

This selection of the native Red Switchgrass is a wonderfull addition to any garden or landscape. Northwinds grows 5-6ft tall and 3ft wide. It has blue green foliage and a more upright vase shape than other varieties of Switchgrass. Northwinds also puts on a great showy seed head in the fall with non-viable seeds. Grow in full sun and use as a foundation, screen or accent plant.



Overdam Grass

Overdam grass grows 18in to 24in tall and plumes can get up to 6ft tall. Reddish brown plumes in the spring turn golden brown in the fall. Plant in full sun. Hardiness zones 4 to 9.



Purple Plume Grass

Purple plume grass works well for border plantings, groupings, and specimen plantings. The grass has purple feathery plumes in the fall months and the foliage remains attractive through the winter months. Grows up to 4ft tall and wide. Plant in full sun. Hardiness zones 5 to 9.



Zebra Grass

Zebra grass has unique green and golden bonded foliage that has reddish bronze plumes in the summer. Its unique characteristics make it idea for specimen plantings or in mass group plantings. Grows up to 8ft tall and 3ft wide at maturity. Plant in full sun. Hardiness zones 4 to 9.



Dwarf Zebra Grass

This grass is similar to zebra grass only it is shorter and stockier. Dwarf zebra grass has unique green and golden bonded foliage that has reddish bronze plumes in the summer. It grows up to 3.5ft tall and 3.5ft wide at maturity. Plant in full sun. Hardiness zones 4 to 9.



Prairie Dropseed Grass

Prairie dropseed is a beautiful grass found in many native prairies. It has long narrow which drape to the ground like a waterfall. The leaves vary in color from green to steely blue gray, and grow up to 3ft tall. Prairie Dropseed changes from true green in the spring and summer to a spectacular yellow orange in the fall. Plant in part to full sun. Hardiness zones 3 to 7.



Little Bluestem Grass

Little Bluestem grasses are a grass thatís native to American prairies. They can grow up to 3ft to 4ft tall and have beautiful blue green foliage that turns a rusty orange in the fall. They work well in mass plantings and for accent plantings. They will tolerate a wide variety of soils. Hardiness zones 3 to 10.
